Fusion Splice Joining

One of the biggest problems with Fibre Optic cabling is what to do when you have a damaged or severed cable. Most contractors will simply tell you that nothing can be done and that it needs to be replaced. This is often not the case. Whether the problem is caused by rodents, termites, vandals or a shovel, the cable can often be re-joined using a technique called Fusion Splicing.

At Datatel we have two Fusion Splicers, a core alignment and a cladding alignment unit, which can repair any type of fibre in the market. This equipment, in the hands of our specialist Fibre Technician, can join the Optic Fibre cable with less than 0.1dB loss and make the fibre as new.
